... Episode 15 of the What's Arising Podcast

Slowly, surely, the truth about many things is now being exposed. We’re finding out that we’ve each been ‘betrayed’ on many levels. This is propelling humanity into ever larger waves of shock, anger, denial, and depression. These shock-waves, also fueled by unprocessed past grief, are growing in intensity and threaten to destroy everything in their path.

In this podcast, I look at what is and will be arising in our world as the truth comes out. We’ll look at what is unfolding in the world through the lens of ‘the Grief Cycle’ to give context to the social unrest arising in our world. Expect very rough seas ahead as we navigate these seas of unprecedented change. While it may get rough, there are healthy ways to ride out the storm and get safely to the other side. Together, we can get through this!

As the Truth Comes Out

We live in a time when long-held assumptions about ourselves, our institutions, and our world are being questioned.

Information is emerging at an unprecedented pace. Stories that once seemed certain are being challenged. New perspectives are appearing. Hidden dynamics are being exposed. Whether these revelations concern our personal lives, our communities, or our larger social systems, they often bring discomfort along with insight.

As truth emerges, it rarely arrives without consequences.

When something we believed to be true is challenged, we are often invited into a process of grief. We may experience shock, denial, anger, bargaining, sadness, confusion, or uncertainty. The loss may not be physical. It may be the loss of a worldview, an identity, a relationship, a belief, or a sense of certainty about how life works.

Many of us are carrying far more unprocessed grief than we realize.

As individuals and as a society, we have experienced tremendous change over the past decades. Economic uncertainty, social polarization, technological disruption, environmental concerns, shifting institutions, and rapid cultural change have all placed increasing pressure on our collective nervous system. When new truths emerge into an already overloaded system, reactions can become amplified.

Some people respond through anger.

Some through denial.

Some through withdrawal, anxiety, or despair.

Some seek distractions, addictions, or escape.

Others begin asking deeper questions.

The question is not simply whether truth is emerging.

The question is how we meet it.

The Opportunity Hidden Within Change

While periods of disruption can feel overwhelming, they also contain the seeds of transformation.

When we are willing to process our grief, question our assumptions, and remain open to new possibilities, change can become a catalyst for growth rather than a source of paralysis.

The invitation is not to react impulsively, nor to cling desperately to the familiar.

The invitation is to cultivate the capacity to remain present.

To listen.

To discern.

To inquire.

To discover what remains true even as the world around us changes.

What Can We Do?

As truth emerges and change accelerates, our work becomes both personal and collective.

Individually

  • Process grief rather than suppress it.

  • Develop emotional resilience.

  • Examine assumptions and beliefs.

  • Cultivate discernment.

  • Open the heart rather than closing it.

  • Practice forgiveness and letting go.

Together

  • Create spaces for meaningful conversation.

  • Build trust within communities.

  • Listen deeply to one another.

  • Support each other through uncertainty.

  • Envision new possibilities for the future.

The future will not be shaped solely by what truths emerge.

It will be shaped by how we respond to them.

An Invitation

Perhaps the deeper question is not:

"What truth is coming out?"

Perhaps the deeper question is:

"Who am I becoming as truth emerges?"

If we can meet change with courage, compassion, curiosity, and a willingness to grow, then even the most difficult revelations may become doorways into greater wisdom, connection, and love.
